New Hampshire is a beautiful state that is in the northern part of New England. This little northern state is probably by far the best New England state as it has everything from mountains to ski on, lakes to tube on, quaint villages to relax in and even a little slice of ocean to swim in. A trip to New Hampshire will be one to remember whether you visit during the summer to explore waterfalls and lakes or during the fall to enjoy your pumpkin spice latte while taking in the picturesque fall foliage. This is a great state with a lot to offer to the mindful traveler.

  • New Hampshire was first settled in Portsmouth in 1623, when a group of English settlers founded a fishing colony near the mouth of the Piscataqua River (2).

New Hampshire has one of the greatest lakes in the world known as Lake Winnipesaukee. This majestic lake has crystal clear water as it is continuously fed from all the surrounding mountain streams. A great small town to visit is Meredith, NH, which is situated on the shores of Lake Winnipesauke. Meredith has a small-town charm with an intimate feel that will surely create a calm and relaxed mindset. This quaint New England Lake town is picturesque with beautiful sparkling clear water and distant mountains on the horizon. This town is the essence of what a lake town should entail. It provides its visitors with restaurants, shops, docks, and water access.  It makes for a magnificent spot to vacation in the summertime or enjoy the cooler weather in the fall.

Another great area to visit in New Hampshire would be Keene, NH. Keene is a beautiful quaint New England town in the southwestern part of New Hampshire. Moreover, the town is home to two colleges offering a collegiate environment as well as a family environment.

New Hampshire’s diverse regions really showcase all that New England has to offer. There are beaches, snowcapped mountains, and endless forests for the leaf peeper. Best of all, New Hampshire has many beautiful lakes to discover and water activities to enjoy.
