Wellness

Welcome to the wellness section! When it comes to nutrition and fitness, it can become difficult to navigate around new diet and fitness trends. Sometimes, the recommendations from different sources can leave us more confused. Therefore, I like to stay well informed and educated on nutrition and fitness so that I can share with you evidence-based information. How do I find such information? I research recent studies and read articles that discuss new nutrition and fitness data. I also enroll in continuing education courses and obtain new certifications. By constantly staying informed, I am able to ensure that I am following evidence-based practices in my life and that I am sharing them with others.

I am a fitness and nutrition advocate and I like to share my knowledge whenever I can. My blog allows me to share it with more people and that is why I started it. In the wellness section you will find information about nutritional values as well as information on overall habit changes. Below, I share with you some quick tips that should help you start making better nutritional decisions.

Nutrition Tips

  1. Eat to nourish and fuel your body. This way you will develop a healthier relationship with food.
  2. Be cautions of new diet trends. Do your research. If it sounds too good to be true, question it.
  3. Be mindful with your eating. When you are mindful with your food, you will stay in check with how much you consume.
  4. Eat in moderation. Eating a balanced diet will ensure that you are consuming the right nutrients.
  5. Do not count calories, count your nutrients. Ask yourself whether you are consuming the right amount of nutrients.
  6. Share new nutrition information with your family and friends that way you help them eat better and this will affect you in a positive way too. If the ones you spend time with eat better, you will have less temptations.
  7. Stay away from frozen meals, they are packed with sodium and preservatives.
  8. Avoid eating take-out because it will not only help you gain more weight, but it will affect your mood negatively. Fast food contains too much oil, sugar, and sodium, which will make you have regrets. When we regret things, we don’t feel so good about ourselves.
  9. Try not to focus on the scale as much. Instead focus on how you feel when you make good nutritional decisions.
  10. When you slip up and have something less nutritious, don’t beat yourself up and throw out your new habits out of the window. Instead, try to make a better decision next time.
